Role Overview:

In this role, you will be an integral part of the Catchpoint Operations team, contributing to the monitoring, investigation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution of application, server, network, and infrastructure issues. The Catchpoint Operations team is dedicated to ensuring the highest possible uptime for both customer and internal networks. As a member of this team, you will oversee the day-to-day operations focused on maintaining optimal uptime for all aspects of our global infrastructure and services hosted across multiple third-party data centers.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science & Networking or Master of Computer Applications (MCA), graduated in 2022 or 2023.
  • 0 to 6 months of professional experience.
  • Preferably certified in Linux.
  • Basic proficiency in Linux (Red Hat/CentOS) troubleshooting and network troubleshooting using tools like ping and traceroute.
  • Basic understanding of Bash/Shell Scripting and Web Server.
  • Fundamental knowledge of large-scale networking concepts, including OSI Model, DNS, SSL/TLS, WINS, TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, Routing, ACLs, and switching.
  • Linux virtualization knowledge (KVM) is a plus.
  • Willingness to work in a 24/5 rotational shift environment.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Systems Engineer at Catchpoint, you’ll be tasked with the following responsibilities:

  • Monitor Catchpoint’s node infrastructure and promptly address Linux server issues across diverse third-party data centers and cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Conduct operating system and application upgrades, as well as server migrations to new environments.
  • Receive and log incidents reported by the Support team, ensuring accurate classification based on predefined options/categories.
  • Take initial steps to resolve customer incidents and escalate to the appropriate level based on predefined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Track the progress of owned incident tickets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring resolution within agreed SLAs and updating tickets accordingly.
  • Escalate incidents to the appropriate next level or management when predefined thresholds are exceeded.
  • Manage the operational aspects of incident management, ensuring adherence to SLAs for time, quality, and customer satisfaction across our global infrastructure.
  • Directly oversee the workload and priorities of the Operations team’s triage functions, swiftly assessing business impact and identifying restoration plans.
  • Engage with customers and executive management through clear written and verbal communication, providing timely status updates on significant incidents affecting business operations or revenue.

Education:

  • BE or B Tech in CSE
  • 2022- 2023
