The Cloudera Hiring Observability team is actively seeking passionate developers to join our expanding engineering team. This team is tasked with developing the Monitoring platform for the market-leading Cloudera Hiring Data Platform. The team’s objective is to create a scalable, robust, and cloud-native Monitoring solution capable of detecting and responding to system failures and abnormal behaviors.
We are assembling a team of highly skilled engineers who are passionate about distributed systems, scalability, test-driven development, and user experience. As a software engineer on this team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a diverse range of applications tailored for the multi-cluster, multi-region, multi-platform CDP Private and Public Cloud. Engineers on this team will have the opportunity to learn firsthand how Cloudera’s largest customers utilize the features they develop to manage 3000+ node clusters, while also applying these insights to Kubernetes.
As a Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing high-quality distributed systems designed to run on Kubernetes.
- Collaborating with engineers across various Big Data projects.
- Demonstrating leadership by providing strong technical expertise and making decisive judgments on prioritization.
- Working with product management to develop a product roadmap.
- Mentoring junior engineers in all aspects of software development.
We are excited about candidates who possess:
- 2+ years of industry experience in building software for large-scale production environments. While we primarily use Go and Java, we are also open to hiring individuals skilled in other enterprise-grade languages.
- A general understanding of distributed systems, microservices-based architecture, networks, and web technologies.
- Experience in systems design.
- An open-minded approach and a desire to continuously learn new technologies.
Additional qualifications that would be beneficial:
- Hands-on experience with Go language.
- Experience in building and maintaining containerized applications on Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with open-source monitoring solutions like Prometheus, Thanos, and Grafana.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and Openshift.
