Role Overview:

The role of an Engineer at Motorola Solutions is pivotal in this mission. Engineers are entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring the overall health and functionality of our push-to-talk communication platforms. This includes continuous monitoring of infrastructure, networks, and applications, along with detailed analysis and troubleshooting to maintain peak performance.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Software Engineer, you’ll be tasked with the following responsibilities:

Available for 24/7 shifts, including weekends, in a mission-critical environment.
Provide on-call support round-the-clock to meet critical service commitments with customers.
Troubleshoot complex, cross-platform issues including OS, Networking, and Database in a cloud-based SaaS setup.
Handle live production incidents, debug and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues.
Resolve ‘Push-To-Talk’ solution issues by participating in live troubleshooting calls with customers.
Capture application logs and network data for analysis, escalating issues to higher-level engineers as needed.
Deploy the ‘Push-To-Talk’ application and configure network settings for seamless server communication.
Monitor network and application performance, ensuring service integrity and uptime.
Develop tools and web services to parse application logs, system health data, and network captures for faster debugging.
Automate monitoring processes to assess Key Performance Indicators of the ‘Push-To-Talk’ solution.
Create user-friendly interfaces to provide a comprehensive view of solution health status.

Skills Required:

Proficient in basic networking protocols.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix administration.
Experience in debugging web-based applications.
Knowledge of Docker and Azure fundamentals, including virtualized environments.
Basic understanding of AWS CloudWatch.
Excellent communication skills.
Capable of handling customer calls effectively.
